Pearland West boards bus to Little League World Series

PEARLAND, Texas – The Pearland West Little League team boarded the bus that will take them to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The team left Big Horn BBQ in Pearland around 4 a.m. Saturday.

"Fourteen wins is how we got here," team manager Andrew Solomon said. "The secret is that they have been working hard for a long time. That's their motto: hard work. Most of these boys have played together since T-ball. We have an awesome group of kids that work really hard and a coaching staff and parent support."

The team won the Southwest Regional Championship Game on Thursday.

"Our team as a whole is very excited," Pearland player Jared Tadlsuk said. "We've all been playing for about seven or eight years as a select team." "I think we're going to do good as a team."

The Little League World Series, featuring eight U.S. teams and eight teams from around the world, starts Aug. 20 and runs through Aug. 30.
