About Craig Roberts

Craig Roberts came to KPRC-TV in June 1980 and anchored the sports for Channel 2 until 2002. He is the longest-tenured sportscaster in the station's long history.

Craig came to Houston after stops in Illinois, Wyoming and Indiana. He has been in broadcasting for 41 years. Craig helped develop a new concept in 1983 and that show, "Sports Sunday," is still on our air. He did play-by-play for the University of Houston and the Houston Oilers, as well as college basketball on NBC Sports.

Radio has also been a big part of his career. Most recently he was Sports Director for News92FM. Sports talk got him to host on 790 (he was there twice) and a regular on the popular Stevens and Pruett Show on KLOL, Rock 101.

Craig graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.A. in Government and served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has two grown children, Cody, of Houston, and Kasey Roberts Dillard, of Watkinsville, Georgia. He is "Paw" to grandchildren Mary Bright and Shepard Dillard.

Craig came back to KPRC in August 2015 to write his "The Daily Craig" column for Click2Houston.com.
