If any of these three scenarios occur, then the Texans will the AFC south division title.

A Texans win and they clinch the strength of victory tiebreaker over Indianapolis (more on that below).

A Texans win and a tie or loss by Indianapolis.

A Texans tie and a loss by Indianapolis.

Currently, the Texans strength of victory is 45-52 (.464) based on the current won-loss records of the seven teams they have beaten.

The Colts current strength of victory is 38-46 (.452) based on the current won-loss records of the six teams they have beaten.

Results of games played by the Saints, Bengals, Jets (the unique teams the Texans have beaten) and the Falcons, Broncos and Dolphins (the unique teams the Colts have beaten), will affect the strength of victory for each team.

Any combination of wins by the Saints, Bengals & Jets plus losses by the Falcons, Broncos and Dolphins that equals 2 (or more) would clinch the strength of victory tiebreaker for the Texans.

The AFC south division winner is already ensured to be the 4th seed in the AFC playoffs. The AFC south division winner would host a wild card game against the top wild card team on Saturday January 9 or Sunday, January 10.
