They send custom care packages throughout the year to deployed troops around the world and sponsor flights home for active-duty service members for emergencies and holidays and fund training of service dogs to pair with disabled veterans and have a military spouse scholarship program.

Johnny Bravo will be the MC, David Joseph will play the national anthem, and Texans broadcaster Marc Vandermeer is scheduled to attend as the third base coach for the veteran squad and will catch the first pitch from a local veteran. Miller Lite is the presenting sponsor.

“We had a scrimmage Monday night, and it was intense,” Jimmy “Sailor” Rogers of Boots For Troops said. “Both teams really want to win this game. As a member of the veterans squad, it was really cool to see the vets play together. There was some camaraderie there. As veterans, we are always searching for that. We miss that the most. It will be on full display Friday night.”
