HOUSTON – H-Town represent: Houston Dynamo FC midfielder Hector Herrera is among several stars on the roster for the 2023 Major League Soccer All-Star game, the league announced Tuesday.
In a news release, Herrera, 33, is one of the 12 players selected by Wayne Rooney, the All-Star coach. He is the first-ever Dynamo player since 2018 to enter the roster.

“We are excited for Hector and this is a great opportunity for him to represent the city and club at a marquee event against one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League,” Dynamo general manager Pat Onstad said. “His leadership and play on the field have been key to our success this year. We see his influence on the group every day at Houston Sports Park and he has really elevated the standard and expectations of the Club.”
Herrera joined Dynamo FC after transferring from Atletico de Madrid in March of 2022 and made his debut as a substitute later last season. He most recently represented Mexico’s National League during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
