What a phenomenal career for Dusty Baker!! Remembering when I was a rookie at Channel 3 presenting him a special award for his athletic prowess at Del Campo HS. Football, basketball, baseball Dusty excelled.

He called 10 year old me down to the top of the dugout and gave me a ball, when he was managing the Giants and made me an even bigger baseball fan. I think about it at least once a month.
A legend in the game, I love that man.
This was a legendary Dusty Baker moment of his career…that on the final out of the game that brought him that elusive World Series ring, he recorded the out then celebrated. https://t.co/ZoiOKu4Hsa

Dusty Baker took his first at bat in September, 1968. In one capacity or another, he has been involved in Major League Baseball ever since. That’s 55 years, boys and girls. Nicely done, sir. That’s a resume and legacy to be proud of.

I wish a happy retirement for Dusty Baker. He finally got his ring, so I’d say it’s the perfect time. I personally always thought he was a great guy, and I will also admit it right here as many have opinions on it and that’s totally fair, but I liked having him as Reds manager.

Intensely appreciative of Dusty Baker and his era of Astros baseball as a fan. Disagreed with some of his 2023 decisions, always liked the person and respect his life inside the game. Hope he enjoys retirement.
