HOUSTON – Texans starting safety and team captain Jalen Pitre visited Lily’s Toy Box, a local nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by Lily DuBose and her family.
“It was a blessing,” Pitre said. “Just to come out here see the wonderful setup they have, help put a smile on these kids’ faces, it was a good turnout. And I’m glad that I could help.

“Usually on Sundays, I try to be the Grinch, but I was for sure Santa today. I feel like this is big for them. Being able to put a smile on their face and help out, it puts a smile on my face as well.”
Pitre was joined by former Texans cornerback Jacobi Francis, a free agent, private coach Jacory Nichols and former University of Houston wide receiver Matthew Golden, who is transferring to the University of Texas.
“It was really fun to have those athletes here,” DuBose said. “I thought it was also a really fun time for the kids to also meet them. That was really fun. It was great to meet some new people and it was just fun to interact with them as well.”
