When Jaivion Green sat in his high school gymnasium at Lamar and committed to play football at the University of Washington in 2022, he didn’t think he’d have an opportunity to play in his hometown.
Fast forward to Monday and he he’ll compete in the biggest game of his career in his own backyard.
Two years ago, I never dreamed I’d be in this spot right now. I was just playing high school football down the road. I’m grateful to be here.”
That gratitude is shared by Green’s parents.
“Our frequent flyer miles won’t go to waste. He’s able to play the championship game, it’s exciting!” his mother Amanda Johnson said.
The Green family is expecting plenty of “#0″ signs in the crowd for Green’s championship game.
