Texans’ Will Anderson Jr., Jonathan Greenard, Sheldon Rankins, Maliek Collins good to go vs Ravens, Jerry Hughes out

HOUSTON – The Texans’ defensive line is good to go against the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC divisional round road playoff game at M&T Bank Stadium.

Texans defensive ends Jonathan Greenard, who leads the team with 12 1/2 sacks, and rookie Will Anderson Jr., an NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate, along with defensive tackles Sheldon Rankins and Maliek Collins all practiced Thursday and are set to play in this playoff game. They all played in a 45-14 AFC wild-card playoff victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Veteran defensive end Jerry Hughes remains sidelined for the second consecutive week after spraining his ankle against the Indianapolis Colts. X-rays were negative for Hughes, a Sugar Land native who recorded three sacks during the regular season with 32 tackles, four for losses. He had nine sacks in his first season with the Texans.

He was officially ruled out Thursday.

Fullback Andrew Beck also returned to practice from a back injury and is set to play against the Ravens, but is listed as questionable, per a league source.

Offensive tackle George Fant was added to the injury report as questionable with an illness and didn’t practice. Fant is expected to start against the Ravens, per a league source.

Not practicing on Wednesday: Hughes along with Anderson Jr. (high-ankle sprain), Greenard (ankle), Beck (back) and Rankins (rib, shoulder).

Limited on Wednesday: cornerback Kris Boyd (hamstring), linebacker Blake Cashman (knee), Collins (hip-core), linebacker Christian Harris (calf), wide receiver John Metchie III (foot), linebacker Denzel Perryman (bruised ribs) and wide receiver Robert Woods (hip).

Harris is practicing Thursday after being added to the injury report on Wednesday. He seems to be moving fine and is expected to play against the Ravens.

The Texans’ injury-depleted receiving corps got a boost last Saturday in a 45-14 playoff over the Browns.

Woods returned after being out against the Indianapolis Colts due to a painful hip injury.

Woods caught 40 passes for 426 yards and one touchdown this season in 14 games and 11 starts during the regular season.

Texans rookie standout wide receiver Tank Dell is out for the season with a broken fibula, and veteran wide receiver Noah Brown was placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury.

For the Ravens, they ruled out cornerback Marlon Humphrey. Tight end Mark Andrews has participated fully the past two days. Although listed as questionable, he is trending toward playing.
