Kiffin did a good job developing linebacker Christian Harris in his second NFL season and linebacker Blake Cashman had his best season yet.

Kiffin is a former Cleveland Browns defensive line coach and San Francisco 49ers pass rush specialist who overlapped with Texans coach DeMeco Ryans in San Francisco on coach Kyle Shanahan’s staff.

The Texans had a much better defense last season, finishing sixth against the run.

The younger brother of Mississippi coach Lane Kiffin and the son of legendary former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, Chris Kiffin, 41, has coached at Florida Atlantic, Mississippi, Arkansas State, USC, Nebraska and Idaho. He played defensive line at Colorado State.
