KPRC 2 Sports talks Houston Astros’ Altuve signing 5-year extension

HOUSTON – The Houston Astros and Jose Altuve made it official on Wednesday, signing a five-year extension.

This will allow Altuve to stay with the team until at least 2029.

The contract is worth $125 million over the 5 years, a league source tells KPRC 2.

The team says on the Astros all-time lists, Altuve ranks first in career batting average (.307), third in hits (2,047), doubles (400), runs (1,062) and stolen bases (293), fourth in OPS (.834) and fifth in home runs (209).
