The AFC South champions sent the 23rd overall and 232nd overall picks to the Vikings. In exchange, the Texans receive the 42nd and 188th overall picks this year, according to a league source. They also get a 2025 second-round draft pick.

Now, the Texans, coming off an 11-8 season, and acquiring Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter for two years and $51 million in free agency, and trading for and signing Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon to a three-year, $27 million extension, have made another roster-shaking move.

In a deeper draft, the Texans now have two second-round draft picks in addition to an extra second-round pick in 2025, it’s a depth-building kind of distraction.
