Episcopal’s Karson Gordon breaks Texas Relays record

The new triple jump record at the prestigious Texas Relays now belongs to Karson Gordon of Episcopal High School. The senior star athlete broke a 44-year-old record with an impressive jump of 53 feet and one and a half inches.

“It meant everything. It all lined up perfectly for me in that moment. I didn’t think I’d get 53, but I knew something was coming,” Gordon said.

The bigger the stage the bigger he’s going to jump,” Episcopal jumps coach, Mylana Osemwegie said.

Karson has always shined at the highest levels including at quarterback helping to lead Episcopal to a state championship in football. Gordon will continue to be a two-star athlete in college at UCLA.

“He stays hungry, in 2028 (Olympics) we could see something special from this young man,” Episcopal head coach, Isaiah Coleman, III said.
