HOUSTON – The Texans are re-signing veteran running back and special-teams contributor Dare Ogunbowale to a one-year contract, per a league source.
Ogunbowale stepped in as the Texans’ emergency kicker when regular kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn had a leg injury and hit a field goal in a win last season.

Ogunbowae had 35 rushing yards on eight carries in 12 games last season.
He caught two passes for 18 yards on seven targets. He had seven tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on special teams.
Two seasons ago, he signed a two-year, $3.3 million deal to rejoin the Texans.
Ogunbowale has rushed for 457 career yards and four touchdowns with 80 catches for 576 yards and one score.
He originally signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin in 2017. After a stint on their practice squad, he was with Washington, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars.
