Texans draft USC defensive end Solomon Byrd, Auburn DT Marcus Harris, Michigan guard LaDarius Henderson in seventh round

HOUSTON – The Texans drafted USC defensive end Solomon Byrd in the seventh round.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Wyoming transfer had six sacks and 48 tackles last season.

A former freshman All-American, Byrd had 28 tackles, 7 1/2 for losses, four sacks and a forced fumble last season.

He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.01 seconds, bench pressed 225 pounds 18 times, had a 32-inch vertical leap and a 9-6 broad jump.

The Texans drafted Auburn defensive tackle Marcus Harris in seventh round.

He had seven sacks and 40 tackles last season. He’s 6-foot-2, 286 pounds.

The Texans drafted Michigan offensive guard LaDarius Henderson. He’s 6-4, 309 pounds. He was a first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection.
