Javier had been spending the past few days weighing his options, and had been leaning toward the surgery options, league sources say. Javier has been out since May 27 with forearm discomfort. The pitcher also missed time due to neck stiffness earlier this season.

Javier finishes 2024 with a 3-1 record and 3.89 ERA in 7 starts.

The Athletic first reported Javier will receive surgery.
