Source: Texans worked out former Eagles WR, UH QB Greg Ward Jr.

HOUSTON – The Texans recently worked out former University of Houston star quarterback and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward, Jr., according to a league source.

Ward, 29, has caught 88 career passes for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns. He earned a Super Bowl ring with the Eagles.

Ward (5-foot-11, 190) moved to wide receiver after going undrafted. For the Coogs, Ward passed for 9,704 yards, 52 touchdowns and 26 interceptions and rushed for 2,381 yards and 39 touchdowns.

Ward played for the San Antonio Commanders in the Alliance of American Football before rejoined the Eagles. He spent last season on the Eagles’ practice squad.

He caught a career-high 53 passes for 419 yards and six touchdowns in 2020 in 16 games with 10 starts for the Eagles.
