HOUSTON – NFL and NBA trainer Justin Allen wanted to increase exposure for young athletes too frequently being overlooked by recruiters.

So, Allen and his All-En Performance Group are holding a Next U Up football exposure camp Saturday at C.E. King High School. The workout at the indoor facility, already maxed out with nearly 200 athletes from first grade to high school seniors, will include a laser 40-yard dash, one-on-one drills, three-cone drill, positional drills, vertical jump, official measurements and recruiting profiles.

“Oh man, I always remember that not everyone has the opportunity to travel across the state or out of state and be in the vicinity of some of the schools they may have dreamed of going to,” Allen told KPRC 2. “I wanted to give back and give something free to the kids to have fun and get some exposure.”

Allen will be assisted by retired former NFL safety Mike Tyson, who’s retired, wide receiver Cyril Grayson and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, who are both free agents, and administrator Katie Welsh and other staff. Chik-fil-A, Juiceland and Lululemon and a mental health company Allen partners with are among the contributing sponsors.

“We’re looking to give guys measurements and these accurate 40-yard dash times,” Allen said. “For the guys who stand out, we’ll do our due diligence to get them on the map. We have a lot of connections. Our job is to help out some of these guys who are under the radar and help them develop.”
