HOUSTON – Veteran offensive tackle Charlie Heck is out for a few weeks after a flareup of plantar fasciitis in his foot, according to league sources.
Heck, 27, underwent testing Tuesday after being sidelined at training camp.

Heck signed a one-year contract with a maximum value of $3.3 million during the offseason.
The deal includes a $1.25 million base salary, $650,000 total guaranteed, up to $400,000 in per game active roster bonuses and a $1.25 million playtime incentive, per a league source.
At 6-foot-8, 311 pounds, Heck provides solid pass blocking and run blocking as a reserve who has started 21 of 41 career games.
The son of Kansas City Chiefs offensive line coach Andy Heck, Heck is a former Texans fourth-round draft pick from North Carolina.
Heck was activated in November from the reserve physically unable to perform list. He dealt with a back injury involving sciatica that affected his foot, per a league source.
Heck played in three games last season.
