Lamar Little League heading to regional round for first time since 2008

HOUSTON – Just about every year, a local little league Houston team comes within reach of a trip to Williamsport. This year is no different as the Lamar Little Leaguers will head to Waco for regionals with a opportunity to reach the game’s biggest stage.

“Everybody had tears on their faces. It was an exciting thing that I’ll never forget for the rest of my life,” head coach, Randall Collum said.

“Truly amazing, we were able to pull it out. It was an amazing experience that only happens once,” first baseman Colton Tolin said.

For Lamar it’s their first trip to the regional round since 2008.

“I feel like when I get to school I can brag. We finally did it!” left fielder, Ayden Taylor said

“To see them win like this, it feels good, like deep in my heart!” Collum said.

Lamar will head to Marvin Norcross Stadium on Tuesday for a couple of days of practice before their first game on Thursday
