Source: Texans worked out linemen La’el Collins, Tremayne Anchrum Jr, Ike Boettger, Jerome Carvin, DB Jason Taylor

HOUSTON – The Texans worked out veteran offensive lineman La’el Collis on Monday, according to a league source.

It’s still being determined if he’ll be signed to a contract.

Collins , 31, is a former Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals starter.

He has started 86 of 80 9 career games. He was last with the Buffalo Bills before being released in August.

He was on the Cowboys’ practice squad briefly in January.

He signed a three-year deal with the Bengals in 2022, but tore his ACL in 2022 and was placed on the physically unable to perform list in 2023 before being released by Cincinnati.

Collins last played in a game in 2022 for Cincinnati when he started 15 games.

The Texans also worked out former Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs center-guard Jerome Carvin, per a league source, former Los Angeles Rams guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr., offensive guard Ike Boettger and former Los Angeles Rams safety Jason Taylor, per league sources.

Anchrum is being signed to the practice squad, per a league source.

Carvin (6-foot-3, 308 pounds) has played left guard and center for the Bears in the preseason and had a 72.0 overall Pro Football Focus analytics grade.

He started every game his last two seasons, including at left guard, center and right guard before playing his final season exclusively at left guard.

He originally signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent last year. He was waived by the Bears in August after spending his rookie year on their practice squad. He was then signed to the Patriots practice squad.

The Texans need depth in the interior offensive line in the wake of struggling starting left guard Kenyon Green dislocating his shoulder and slated for injured reserve, per league sources.
