HOUSTON – When the Texans debut their futuristic, new-look Battle Red uniforms Sunday night at NRG Stadium, KPRC 2 has the game covered with a special pregame show live on the KPRC 2+ livestream. Sports director Randy McIlvoy, reporters Chancellor Johnson and Ari Alexander and KPRC 2 Texans insider Aaron Wilson will host.

Our pregame show begins at 5 p.m. from the field for an hour-long program leading up to in-game and post-game coverage on Sports Sunday as well as Click2Houston from our sports team.

The Texans, the defending AFC South champions, are 6-3 and coming off a road loss to the New York Jets. The Lions are 7-1 and led by quarterback Jared Goff, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery and a talented safety tandem in Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph.

The Texans’ new uniforms are an updated rendition of previous all-red looks.

“Yeah, Battle Red jerseys, they’re sweet,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. “I really like them, really like the helmets. It’s a really cool look, really updated look that I think our team has done a great job of upgrading our uniforms and our players they really love them, and I think guys are going to fly around, they’re going to look good on Sunday night.”

The Texans will be breaking out their new Battle Red futuristic uniforms that have a shiny metallic look.

“Red is my favorite color,” Azeez Al-Shaair said. “My mom assigned me green as my birth color, but I love red. That metallic, I like it, for sure.”

Despite the Texans having home field advantage, the Lions have been established as a 3 1/2-point favorite, according to most betting lines.

“I know no one wants to hear this but, for me, every week is a big game,” Ryans said. “It doesn’t change just because the Lions are coming in and whatever their record is, that doesn’t change. Every week, for me, is a big game. Every game is important. This game isn’t more important just because of the Lions and what they’ve done.

“They’ve played good football, of course, credit to those guys. They’re playing well, they’re coached well, but that doesn’t change our mindset, how we approach every week. It’s still the same every week. Every week, big game. And we’re trying to go out and win this one.”
