#14 Houston Cougars take down Oklahoma State in Big 12 Opener

STILLWATER, OK. – Behind a season-high 20 points and 11 rebounds from graduate forward J’Wan Roberts, the #14/14 University of Houston Men’s Basketball program defeated Oklahoma State, 60-47, on Monday evening inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The victory marks the 10th straight win in conference openers for the Cougars.

Graduate guard L.J. Cryer added 18 points, making 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and junior guard Milos Uzan contributed 12 points and six rebounds for the Cougars (9-3, 1-0 Big 12), who began defense of their conference title by limited the Cowboys to 18 points in the first half on 6-of-27 shooting.

Brandon Newman led Oklahoma State (8-4, 0-1 Big 12) with 12 points off the bench and Robert Jennings added 10 as the Cowboys made just 14 of 54 (25.9%) shots from the field.
