HOUSTON – Texans Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon was recognized by the Pro Football Writers of America local chapter as the annual Media Good Guy award winner.

In his first season with the Texans following an offseason trade from the Cincinnati Bengals. Mixon was regularly cooperative at home and road games and provided candor and insight to the media.

Mixon mixed analytical answers with a sense of humor and a willingness to be detailed about the state of the team throughout the season.

“Hey man, shout out to y’all,” Mixon said after receiving a glass trophy with his name engraved. “I appreciate that. This hard right here, though. I’m about to put this in the crib.”

On and off the field, Mixon has embraced a fresh start with the Texans and was named to the Pro Bowl for the second time.

Last season, Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud was named the winner of the local Media Good Guy award and was also honored by the national chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.
