HOUSTON – Junior guard Emanuel Sharp scored 14 points, graduate forward J’Wan Roberts added 12 and the #12/11 University of Houston Men’s Basketball program beat TCU 65-46 on Monday night inside Fertitta Center for its seventh straight win.

Monday’s win marked the seventh straight game in which Houston held an opponent to 55 points or fewer. That is the longest streak to accomplish that feat since the late 1940s.
Houston closed the 1947-48 season with a 52-40 win over Stephen F. Austin on March 3, 1948, and opened the 1948-49 season with nine straight games allowing 55 points or fewer.
Graduate guard L.J Cryer had 10 points for Houston (11-3, 3-0 Big 12), which shot 48% and went 8-of-19 on 3-pointers. The Cougars won their 31st consecutive home game to extend the nation’s longest active streak.
Roberts scored 12 points and now needs only three more points to become the 52nd student-athlete in program history to score 1,000 points.
Roberts also competed in the 149th game of his collegiate career, tying the Houston record set by forward Fabian White Jr. (2017-22).
Graduate guard Mylik Wilson added nine points with five rebounds and now needs only 10 more points to become a 1,000-point scorer in his career with stops at Houston (2022 –), Texas Tech (2021-22) and Louisiana (2019-21).
Noah Reynolds scored 19 points and Vasean Allette added 11 for TCU (8-6, 1-2). The Horned Frogs shot 43% but struggled from deep, finishing 3-of-18 on 3s.
TCU: The Horned Frogs need more production from their bench. TCU’s starters scored every point until the final 30 seconds, and the reserves finished with two points.
Houston: The Cougars started 6-of-6 from the field while opening a 13-4 lead before TCU cut into the deficit. Houston hit nine straight field goals and pulled away.
With the Cougars leading 29-26 early in the second half, Roberts made a layup that sparked a 9-0 run. Houston’s lead never dropped below double digits again.
Houston forced TCU into a season-high 19 turnovers and held the Horned Frogs to four assists on 20 field goals.
