Hawaii quarterback, Dallas native Brayden Schager to showcase skills at SMU Pro Day, Dallas Cowboys local prospect day

HOUSTON – Hawaii quarterback Brayden Schager is auditioning on the mainland for NFL scouts.

A Highland Park native, Schager was invited to the Dallas Cowboys’ local prospect day and will participate in the SMU Pro Day on March 24. He’ll also participate in the UC-Davis Pro Day along with the other Hawaii draft prospects.

At Hawaii, Schager displayed his arm talent with 9,096 career passing yards, 60 touchdowns and ran for eight touchdowns.

At 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Schager has good size, arm strength and mobility. He passed for 2,591 yards, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions last season. He ran for four touchdowns against Nevada and had three-touchdown performances against UNLV and Fresno State.

Schager has been throwing with the SMU skill players and has been training with quarterbacks coach Ken Mastrole in Fort Myers since January.

Schager won the starting job at Hawaii as a sophomore after starting three games as a freshman.

He passed for a career-high 3,542 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2023, including 427 yards in a loss to San Diego State.

He entered the NCAA transfer portal, but withdrew days later and returned for his senior year.
