The Texans’ secondary is loaded with All-Pro corner Derek Stingley Jr., safeties Calen Bullock and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, cornerback Kamari Lassiter and hard-hitting nickel Jalen Pitre. NFL teams can always use more talent in the secondary while competing in a passing league.
Revel is making a speedy recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in September and surgically repaired by the Dallas Cowboys’ team orthopedist.
Revel, a long, speedy corner at 6-foot-2, 194 pounds, is expected to be ready for training camp.
Revel intercepted one pass and had 13 passes deflected two seasons ago with 54 tackles.
The Winston Salem native transferred from Louisburg College to play for the Pirates. He returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown against Appalachian State last season and had two interceptions in the first three games.
In high school, Revel excelled at corner and wide receiver and ran track as a standout in the 55 meters, 300 meters, long jump and high jump events.
