SMU running back Brashard Smith to visit Texans, Vikings, Bears as well as locally with Cowboys

HOUSTON – SMU running back Brashard Smith has a visit with the Texans in addition to the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.

An All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection, Smith rushed for 1,332 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. He caught 39 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns. He never fumbled in his college career.

In a playoff game against Penn State, he rushed for 62 yards on 18 carries. He rushed for 113 yards on 24 carries in the ACC championship against Clemson.

The Miami native has run the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds with a 1.58 10-yard split, a 32 1/2 inch vertical leap and a 9-9 broad jump.

NFL teams like his explosiveness, versatility, moves and nose for the end zone.

The Cowboys visit doesn’t count as a top 30 visit because it’s a local player.

A semifinalist for the Doak Walker award, Smith is a University of Miami transfer.

Smith excelled at his Pro Day with his cutting and pass-catching skills.

At Miami, he caught 14 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman.

As a sophomore, he caught 33 passes for 308 yards. He returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown in a win over Texas A&M in 2023 before entering the NCAA transfer portal.
