HOUSTON – The Astros are asking the city to "Orange Out" for Games 1 and 2 of the American League Division Series this week.
Do we have what it takes as a fan base to carry a team to the World Series?
The club is asking fans all over the city to show their Astros pride, especially on Thursday and Friday.
The Astros are asking local businesses, schools, community leaders, organizations and Astros fans to wear orange clothing and accessories, wear Astros apparel, decorate buildings and homes in orange and to creatively display their Astros pride.
Discovery Green, the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hilton Americas-Houston, Houston City Hall, the Houston Police Department, NASA Johnson Space Center and Space City Houston will join the Orange Out Houston effort.

Astros owner and chairman Jim Crane, Astros pitcher Joe Musgrove, mascot Orbit and the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars will join Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner on the steps of City Hall, at 901 Bagby in downtown Wednesday at noon to help kick off the Astros postseason celebration.
Astros fans are encouraged to post photos of what they are doing to Orange Out Houston with the hashtag #EarnHistory for the chance to win exciting prizes including Astros postseason apparel, promo packs, signed memorabilia and Astros postseason tickets.
The Astros are also inviting fans to come out to a Postseason Street Fest on Crawford Street prior to each Astros home game.
- Thursday: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Friday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At the fest, fans will be able to enjoy live music, food trucks, inflatables, bar games, photo booths, poster-making stations and more. A valid game ticket is required for entry.
The roof of Minute Maid Park will be closed for Games 1 and 2.
All fans in attendance for Game 1 will receive an Astros Postseason Rally Towel. Fans in attendance for Game 2 will receive an Astros Postseason Fan Clapper.
Mattress Mack will throw out the first pitch for Game 1 and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 2.
The Astros are making their second playoff appearance in the past three years. They have a matchup against the Boston Red Sox in a best-of-five AL Division Series. The Astros won the regular-season series from the Red Sox, going 4-3 in seven meetings.
