Owen Conflenti

Anchor

Since 2005, Owen Conflenti has co-anchored KPRC 2 News Today, which airs weekdays from 5 to 7 a.m., bringing nearly two decades of experience and commitment to Houston’s morning viewers.

Like so many people, Owen wasn't born in Texas, but he got here as quickly as he could. He is a native of Pittsburgh where he graduated from Central Catholic High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston. Before KPRC, Owen was the weekend anchor at WNCT in Greenville, NC.

Over the years, Owen has been a trusted voice during some of Houston's most significant moments--covering everything from devastating hurricanes to thrilling sports championships. Whether delivering breaking news during early morning broadcasts or guiding viewers through storms since Hurricane Rita, Owen's presence has become synonymous with reliability and calm during times of uncertainty.

Owen has been deeply involved in various KPRC 2 community projects and charity events throughout his tenure. Notably, he has played a significant role in the KPRC 2 Senior Scholarship program, especially in its early years, by presenting the inaugural checks to the scholarship winners. Owen says he's extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity Houston and The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Proud of his Italian roots, Owen also hosts an annual fundraising luncheon for the Italian Cultural and Community Center of Houston. Owen is a big Houston Texans fan, known for heckling opposing fans in the NRG Park Orange Lot over the years. He and Texans mascot Toro are good friends since they made TikTok videos together during the pandemic.

Owen is married and a father of four. When he's not on the anchor desk, you'll probably find him spending time with his family. He loves the outdoors -- golfing, mountain biking, and taking the kids camping...and he's always up for a great Texas road trip!
