HOUSTON – Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen and other local officials unveiled an Eviction Assistance Program Wednesday to help those facing eviction due to the coronavirus pandemic. The program is designed to provide resources to help people facing eviction navigate challenges. Some in the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office wondered if anyone would show up on Wednesday for the event, but cars lined up before dawn. The nearly $250,000 raised will fund the new program, which provides free legal help and other services from community partners for tenants and landlords. In an emotional press conference Friday, held with Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Al Rosen, 24-year-old Israel Rodriguez said the donated money would help him get his life back together. HOUSTON A man is accused of sexually assaulting a teen that he met through a social media app on June 2, according to investigators with the Human Trafficking Division of the Harris County Precinct One Constables Office. Juan Miguel Moncada, 25 was arrested and charged with two felony offenses: Sexual assault of a child and tampering with evidence on July 30. Women and girls are too often treated as criminals in cases like this, said Constable Alan Rosen. Precinct One has established a hotline where you can always report human trafficking. HOUSTON – An ex-Houston Chronicle sports reporter was arrested Thursday and faces new charges of attempted sexual assault of a child and online solicitation, according to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office. Officials say subsequent investigations led to new charges being filed against him and his arrest Thursday near the 100 block of Chelsea Boulevard, in the city’s Museum District. “Investigators say Atkins began chatting with a 15 year old girl on Instagram last December,” officials wrote on Facebook. We believe the girl was with Atkins on at least three occasions.”Hunter Atkins, 31, faces charges including with attempted sexual assault of a child and online solicitation, according to the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office. Such predators will not be tolerated.”The Houston Chronicle reports Atkins was employed at the newspaper’s sports department until February.

HOUSTON – Two children and an adult were injured after a vehicle struck a day care Wednesday afternoon in northwest Harris County, according to Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen. The incident was reported around 2 p.m. in the 8000 block of Antoine Drive. Officials said the driver attempted to run from the scene but was arrested.
