At around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, deputies say they were called to the Wells Fargo Bank located on Highway 99 near Bay Hills in Katy about an armed robbery. According to detectives, four men entered the bank displaying handguns, then took off with an undisclosed amount of money. Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 REWARD to any individual that can lead authorities to the apprehension and filing of charges on those who committed the aggravated bank robbery. Police officers arrived at the Wood Forest bank in the 9900 block of Highway 6 on Saturday around 2 p.m.Officers were told by bank employees that the bank had been robbed at gun point. According to employees, the suspect casually walked up to the bank teller window, removed the silver gun from his waistband and pointed it in the teller's direction. The suspect demanded money, received the money from the teller and walked out of the bank. Witnesses say the suspect was also wearing square sunglasses, a blue shirt, dark colored jeans and a pair of white tennis shoes.

The man demanded cash, which both tellers handed over, investigators said. The man left the bank on foot and then got into a 2006 to 2008 green Chevrolet Uplander, police said. FBI officials said a man wearing a wig and dress demanded cash from the First Convenience Bank inside the Kroger store on North Eldridge Parkway near West Little York about 2:30 p.m. After the robbery, the man fled in a car driven by a second person. Detectives have not said if that person was the robbery suspect or the getaway driver. A description of the second person involved has not been released.
