A man who was already wanted for a murder in 2024 has now been hit with three new charges after his dogs killed his neighbor during an attack on March 23 in northeast Houston, according to records.

After a deadly dog attack last month, KPRC 2 obtained an animal control report revealing one of the pit bulls had been reported for aggression in 2019.

Houston Police said a woman was attacked and killed by three dogs on Sunday. Harris County Animal Control said the dogs were three pit bulls.

Constable Mark Herman said a caller told officers the dogs were still on the loose and the child was rushed to a hospital.

One day before a meeting of the Liberty County Commissioners Court where the issue is said to be addressed, a realtor says the problem of stray dogs is causing issues for business.

Stray dogs and dog attacks have been an ongoing problem across the Houston-area.

QUINLAN, Texas – Authorities say a toddler was killed when attacked by a dog in North Texas. The 23-month-old child left an enclosed yard on Monday unnoticed by family members and walked a short distance along a gravel road before being attacked by the dog, or a pit bull or pit bull mix, said Hunt County Sheriff’s Sgt. The child died at a hospital after being found in the road by deputies responding to reports of a dog attack near Quinlan, about 40 miles (64 kilometers) northeast of Dallas, Haines said. The dog is being held at an animal control shelter. No arrests have been made or charges filed pending completion of an investigation.
