Nearly 30 rare and historic warbirds flew across the city to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day and in honor of those that served and sacrificed during World War II. Originally scheduled to take place on Friday, May 8, Lone Star Flight Museum’s Fight to the Finish Flyover was postponed due to inclement weather. The flyover is now set to take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 10. According to the Lone Star Flight Museum, nearly 30 rare and historic warbirds will fly over the city of Houston. If the flyover won’t be passing over your neighborhood, here are some locations we suggest watching the event from:

The Lone Star Flight Museum has released a commemorative program that features the route and planes that will take part in the event over the Houston area. You can download the PDF below and print it out to remember the 75th anniversary celebration that honors those who served and sacrificed during World War II. Major Frank Zastoupil a U.S Marine Corps pilot will be flying over Houston Wednesday, including the downtown skyline twice with his two copilots. In an interview with Bryan-College Station’s The Eagle, he said his interest in aviation starting when he was a junior in high school. Before graduating from Texas A&M, he signed his officer candidacy preparatory work to join the Marine Corps. His decorations include three Strike Flight Air Medals, one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and various personal and unit awards.
