Man arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $500,000 worth of backup generators from 30 Texas businesses. Using stolen credit card information, he purchased the generators and resold them in Harris County on Facebook Marketplace.
Following a request from the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the state is sending generators to Georgia to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Texas’ Lt. Governor Dan Patrick criticized CenterPoint Energy for leasing massive rate-payer funded generators instead of mobile generators which could be used more effectively in emergency situations.
“It’s been painful to watch the elderly population in Houston suffer without electricity during these devastating storms,” said Megan.
