After firing a weapon at police, a man has barricaded himself in a Houston-area apartment unit with a hostage.

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham met with Houston City Council Tuesday to address the hundreds of people who are owed relocation assistance.

Houston police said a body reported floating in Greens Bayou Saturday has been recovered.

Police said a man was found shot to death at a park in North Houston on Monday night. According to Houston police, the body was found at about 10 p.m. close to Greens Bayou near Beltway 8.
