Average hotel occupancy has fallen off a cliff in the past couple of months, from an average of 73% this time last year to less than 30% now. And that hotel occupancy tax that pipes millions into the local economy? Industry experts, like Arlene Ramirez of the University of Houstonโs Conrad Hilton College, say the hotel industry will bounce back.
