The Houston Association of Realtors, Crime Stoppers of Houston and the Clear Channel Outdoor have joined together to launch a public awareness campaign about the rise in rental scams in Houston.

The Houston-area housing market saw 13 consecutive months of positive sales come to an end in July due to what the Houston Association of Realtors described as a statistical anomaly.

It’s a question every potential home buyer is asking right now.

The Houston-area housing market recorded its greatest one-month year-over-year sales volume increase of all time last month. May 2021 also saw the market’s twelfth consecutive positive month of sales, according to the  Houston Association of Realtors

The Houston housing market recorded its tenth consecutive month of positive sales in March despite record-low inventory.

Total property sales for the month saw a 1.9 percent year over year increase to 7,464. Meanwhile, market supply did not keep pace with demand. Single-family home inventory in February 2021 plunged 27.8 percent year over year to a record-low 1.6-month supply, down from a 3.3 month supply in February 2020. Comparatively, the nation’s overall housing inventory currently stands at a historically low 1.9-months supply, according to the latest National Association of Realtors report. AdIn February, Houston homes spent an average of 48 days on the market, a 20 day decrease from February 2020.

The Houston housing market recorded its eight consecutive month of positive sales in January despite record-low inventory. Total property sales for the month saw a 27.5 percent year over year increase to 7,519. AdMeanwhile, market supply did not keep pace with demand. Single-family home inventory in January 2021 plunged 31.3 percent year over year to a record-low 1.8-month supply, down from a 3.3 month supply in January 2020. In January, Houston homes spent an average of 48 days on the market, a 21 day decrease from January 2020.

HOUSTON – A global pandemic didn’t slow the demand for homes in Houston in 2020. Last year, Houston buyers closed on a record 96,151 single-family homes, a 10.5% year-over-year increase and the largest one-year sales volume of all time, the Houston Association of Realtors reported. The previous sales record was set in 2019, when 86,996 single-family homes were sold. All-in-all, the year’s total dollar volume jumped 18.1% to more than $35.3 billion, yet another record according to the Houston Association of Realtors. Houston’s greatest one-month sales volume of all time was recorded in July, when 10,815 single-family homes were sold.

WACO, Texas – A historical 19th century Texas estate, described as “one of the most beautiful and historically significant homes in Waco,” has landed on the market for $1.39 million, per a listing from the Houston Association of Realtors website provided by Waco-based real estate agent Adrianna Walker. The one-of-a-kind home, which dates back to 1885, was built by none other than Wade Morrison, founder of Texas-made soft drink Dr Pepper. HOUSTON The Houston Association of Realtors released some data Wednesday showing that the local housing market for June beat 2019 sales. Over 1,200 more homes were sold in June 2020 than in June 2019, according to HAR. Most of the homes sold were in the $250,000 to $500,000 range, but homes listed in the $500,000 to $750,000 jumped 18.6%, according to HAR. Coronavirus has driven the Houston housing market into uncharted territory. Due to the shrunken inventory and the new rise in coronavirus cases, HAR is anticipating another dip in the local housing market come fall.
