As conditions have improved across roadways in Harris County, Houston METRO bus service has announced it is resuming its core routes.

As drivers remain encouraged to stay off the roadways due to icy road conditions, Houston METRO announced it would be suspending its bus services all of Tuesday.

Investigators say a man's body was found directly in front of a bus shelter due to the cold weather. It's unclear how long he was there.

It's unclear what led up to the crash, but officials said it happened on Westpark Tollway near Westheimer Place causing the tollway to be shut down while authorities investigated.

Investigators said there was also evidence linking the man to a robbery at gunpoint earlier that day. The knife was recovered but not the gun, police said.

Houston riders will see the new and improved electric buses on at least two routes as part of METRO's pilot program.

Residents in the downtown area will no longer the blue and red high-visibility stripping on METRO light rail trains, but instead gray trains.

Despite challenges, Houston Metro's Silver Line in the Galleria area is paving the way for similar routes in the future.
