Arch Manning earned his first career win as a starter and Jaydon Blue scored four touchdowns as No. 1 Texas ran over Louisiana-Monroe 51-3 Saturday night.

No. 4 Texas has lost a second running back to a season-ending injury, leaving Jaydon Blue as the only scholarship player with significant experience at the position.

Houston - Major recruiting news dropped in #txhsfb when nationally ranked recruit Rueben Owns out of El Campo High School committed to the Texas Longhorns. Owens is the first commit for new head coach Steve Sarkisian in the 2023 Class, but when he arrives in Austin he will join Jaydon Blue, the No. Blue committed to the Longhorns earlier this month and welcomed Owens to the family on social media. It set the tone for the entire game, which Westfield took 42-24 to advance to the third round of the 6A-I playoffs. Klein Cain, though, was able to answer. Klein Cain intercepted the very next pass by Williams, but the Mustangs defense forced a punt to start the 2nd quarter. Still, Klein Cain has one of the most explosive offenses in Houston for a reason. Coming off its first ever playoff win last week, Klein Cain was poised to get revenge.

The football stars of Houston were socially-distanced and masked-up as VYPE hosted it's 2020 Football Photo Shoot powered by Whataburger. Over 300 of the city's top players attended shoots at Spring Branch's Tully Stadium, Sheldon ISD's Panther Stadium and Spring ISD's Planet Ford Stadium. When sports came to a screeching halt, school was forced into the home-online version, that didn't keep athletes from getting individual workouts in to stay in shape.
