Like I said, Haack always reloads, and it will be interesting to see how long it takes before Reichardt and Harrison are household names in Katy. The Longhorns cut the lead to 37-14 before Katy shut the door with a 25-yard touchdown run by sophomore Seth Davis, and an interception return touchdown by Cal Varner. Crosby falls short but makes community proudThe Crosby Cougars hadn’t made the state finals since 1960, but an impressive run through the playoffs got them there in 2020. Crosby won two games in overtime to reach AT&T Stadium but fell short to powerhouse Aledo in the final. Coach Jerry Prieto was proud of their effort and how the team’s playoff run brought what he called a “divided” community together.

The Tigers' defensive unit complemented Koger's performance by holding Shadow Creek to zero offensive touchdowns in the first half. Despite a bumpy first half that consisted of penalties, personal fouls, and being scored on numerous times, Shadow Creek played a respectable second half, as they tied with Katy 14-14. As for Shadow Creek, they're in good hands. With all talent being accounted for, it is likely that Katy and Shadow Creek will meet in the Regional Finals in the seasons to come, just as Katy did with North Shore for four years in a row (2016-2019).

Campbell, a four-star running back prospect in the Class of 2021, announced via his Twitter account Wednesday night that he has decided to forego his senior season and instead prepare to early enroll at USC. Campbell played his junior season for Pearland. Prior to his junior year, Campbell spent his freshman season at Mayde Creek and sophomore year at Katy Taylor. So, if the Pac-12 does indeed play a season in the spring, Campbell could see the gridiron then.

The Tigers are no stranger to the stage, but it was their first time back in three years. But that's when Adam Taylor would take over while running over anybody in his way. In the 2nd quarter, the Tigers were down 3-zip when Adam Taylor soared in from a yard out. He led Katy to win their 7th title in school history, 35-24.
