Police said a man has died after he was found with stab wounds along South Loop Feeder Road Thursday.

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after detectives said a man died during an encounter with Houston police in northwest Houston Monday. Officers said they responded to a call of a man in his 50s in distress in the 1220 block of West 15 1/2 Street around 12:05 a.m.Investigators said the man was reportedly having a mental health episode. While talking to police, officers said he backed away and fell into a ditch, suffering some cuts. Police said they called for paramedics, and while waiting for them, the man collapsed. Houston police detectives are currently investigating the incident.

HOUSTON – A 28-year-old man is dead after a gun accidentally went off inside a residence in west Houston Wednesday, police said. Officers said it happened just before 9 p.m. in the 15100 block of Richmond Avenue. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police say based on surveillance footage, it appears the gun discharged after the man sat it down on a table or counter. According to investigators, two other people who were inside the home at the time are cooperating with investigators.
