It wasn't clear why Tingler was thrown out for the second time in his rookie season leading the Padres. Tingler was tossed while replacing reliever Garrett Richards just after the Dodgers' first hit, a double by Mookie Betts. The Padres sent a parade of relievers to the mound after Mike Clevinger left the game after throwing his second pitch of the second inning. After Tingler was ejected, the Dodgers scored four runs in the sixth to break a 1-all tie.
