David McKinney, 32, was hit killed by a man in a Chevy pickup after trying to break up a fight in North Houston.According to the Houston Police Department it happened around 5 a.m. in a gas station parking lot on Veterans Memorial drive and Gulf Bank Road. At some point, police say an unidentified suspect got into his truck and ran McKinney over, killing him and it was all caught on video.“This morning, when I came he was laying on the ground he was still there with a sheet over him and it was a pretty sad moment,” said friend Crytal Roberts. The community honored McKinney by putting together a makeshift memorial in the same location he took his final breathe.“He was a good dude. He helped people out that didn’t even deserve it,” said a friend named Wade.Police told KPRC 2 they have identified the suspect after finding his wallet on scene but have yet to release his name.They are also searching for the vehicle he was seen using in the video which is described as a 2003 Chevy Silverado with a Texas license plate reading: TDY9548.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

After a huge 15-0 shut-out win over McKinney, the Prosper Lady Eagles have improved to a 7-2 district record (19-3-1overall). With an 85% win percentage, the Lady Eagles are continuing to do all that it takes to make a push towards playoffs with goals of being the best not only in their district, but the state.

In all, Texas electricity providers failed to make more than $2.1 billion in payments that were due to ERCOT, according to another market notice Friday. Griddy passes wholesale electricity rates directly to customers, who in turn pay the company $10 a month. ERCOT said it was “working closely with PUC staff and Affected Market Participants to ensure an efficient and effective transfer of customers.” ERCOT spokesperson Leslie Sopko said she had no further details on Griddy’s customers. AdIn a message to customers that Griddy spokesperson Lauren Valdes shared with The Texas Tribune, the company said ERCOT ignored requests for emergency help and shut it down Friday. Last week, Griddy warned customers about price hikes and encouraged them to switch to other providers, according to previous reporting by The Texas Tribune.

(Polk County Jail via AP)IOWA CITY, Iowa – Prosecutors have added five felony weapons and assault counts against a white man already charged with attempted murder for shooting into a car carrying four Black girls during a rally for President Donald Trump in Iowa. At a state government parking lot, an angry confrontation broke out between the Black teenagers and a much larger group of Trump supporters. The bullet struck the leg of a 15-year-old girl in the passenger seat who was arguing with Trump supporters through the sunroof. McKinney, an Army veteran and former Iowa National Guard member, told police that he fired in self-defense after the girls' vehicle reversed and struck a Trump supporter's pickup truck.

The McKinney Fire Department is advising people to dispose of their trees in a safe way after responding to a this fire. Both teams' last game were losses to district leader Frisco - Liberty last week; Lebanon Trail two weeks ago. Liberty likes to air things out while Lebanon Trail wants to keep things on the lower end of the scoreboard.
