Firefighters say the couple suffered from serious burns and smoke inhalation. It's unclear what caused the fire.

A volunteer fire department was closest in the area so when the first responding firefighter arrived, he saw heavy flames coming from the mobile home. He tried to break through to try and rescue the grandmother and baby inside, but it was sadly too late.

A woman is recovering after a mobile home fire in east Harris County Monday, officials with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office said.
