The suspect then took the woman’s purse and then ran back to the vehicle and jumped into the backseat. The woman tried to run after the suspect’s vehicle, but police said she stopped when the suspect fired a round towards her. According to police, the suspect’s shoes fell off as he exited the vehicle and were recovered by officers. Shortly after the robbery, police said the suspect’s iPad was tracked near the Greyhound Bus Station, but was never located.

The crash was reported at 2:16 a.m. at a home on Russel Drive at Trinity Way. The vehicle went airborne and hit a tree, which sheared off the side of the car, troopers said. The vehicle then crashed into two support pillars of the home and stopped in a stairway, troopers said. Troopers said they are investigating the cause of the crash, but they believe alcohol and speed were factors.

The fire started around 11 p.m. Tuesday on Lilac Lane near Azalea Lane in New Caney, according to the Montgomery County Fire Department. The wife, who was inside the home when the fire started, called the fire department and told them the second-floor master bedroom was on fire. Firefighters had some issues putting the blaze out because of the lack of fire hydrants, so extra tankers had to be called in, authorities said. While they were fighting the fire, authorities said they noticed a five-ton central air unit inside the home, so all firefighters were ordered to immediately evacuate the area.

Several dozen people -- including family, friends, teammates and faculty members -- held a candlelight vigil to honor the high school junior. Givens was killed in an apparent hit-and-run on Sunday morning while walking home from a friend's quinceanera. "There's no words to explain," Del Angel replied when asked how much she would miss her friend. A viewing will be held Wednesday for Givens at the Grand Parkway Church in Porter.
