Deputies said two teen boys were also injured in the crash and flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital Downtown. The family said they were brothers; DeCarerick died Sunday night and Faybian died Monday evening, according to the family.

HOUSTON – A crash involving a METRO police unit has shut down the outbound lanes on the Northwest Freeway Friday, police said. Police said the crash happened around 2:10 a.m. on Highway 290 and Barker Cypress. According to investigators, a vehicle hit the METRO police unit while the METRO officer was assisting in traffic control. Officers said both drivers were transported to the hospital. The driver that hit the METRO unit was possibly intoxicated, police said.

CYPRESS, Texas – The man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend in Cypress has been taken into custody without incident on Wednesday, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Ed Gonzales announced. The charges against Mann Austin Hayes have been upgraded to murder, according to Gonzales. Authorities said the victim, 20-year-old Julie Dela Garza, died on Monday. JERSEY VILLAGE, Texas – A man who had been paroled in late June was shot by a Jersey Village police officer Thursday after hitting the officer with a stolen car, officials said. According to Jersey Village Police Chief Kirk Riggs, officers located a stolen vehicle at the convenience store and Holmes accelerated as officers were moving in on the car. Riggs said the vehicle hit one of the officers and that officer fired through the windshield, hitting Holmes in a shoulder and his right hand. Riggs said Holmes was paroled on June 30 and has an extensive rap sheet, including burglary, evading arrest, drug and firearm possession charges. The officer who was hit by the vehicle was not seriously injured, officials said.

The accident was reported around 3:45 p.m. on Highway 290 and Gessner Road. Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The scene is being investigated into how the accident happened. Police ask drivers to see alternate routes.

Inspectors found slime in the ice machine and 250 pounds of ice had to be thrown out. Denny’s at 12862 Northwest Freeway also had an insect problem. Brick House Tavern and Tap at 12910 Northwest Freeway had to throw away 174 pounds of food because it was not safe to eat. And inspectors found more roaches at La Finca Mexican Restaurant at 11660 Westheimer Road. But there’s good news to report this week: Inspectors gave perfect grades to Potbelly Sandwich and Chipotle Mexican Grill, both on Westheimer near Dunvale.
