An armed burglary suspect is dead after a shooting involving a Houston police officer in the Kingwood area, HPD said Friday.

Houston police released the body camera video of an officer-involved shooting where a suspect was shot several times after a chase in northwest Houston back in November.

A suspect is in the hospital after he was shot several times during a shootout with Houston police officers following a pursuit in northwest Houston early Thursday, police said.

A man was shot by an officer outside a boarding home in west Houston late Saturday night, Houston police said.

An investigation is ongoing after a man who was possibly intoxicated was shot by officers at a Montgomery County motel Friday night.

HOUSTON – Ryan Patrick, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, spoke to KPRC 2 on Thursday about the federal charges his office brought against Elmer Manzano, the man accused of killing a Houston police sergeant and wounding another officer. “We brought two federal charges -- one for being a felon in possession of a firearm and for being an alien in possession of a firearm,” Patrick said. Manzano, a 51-year old convicted felon, is accused of shooting and killing Houston police Sgt. Federal charging documents show that as early as Saturday, Houston police knew Manzano had a gun. On both occasions, the wife said Manzano displayed a weapon and she feared for her life.

HOUSTON – KPRC 2 Investigates has learned the name of the suspect accused of killing one Houston police officer and wounding another is 51-year-old Elmer Manzano. According to state criminal records, Manzano was charged in 2002 with felony evading of police. Manzano did not serve his sentence in state prison which is normally the case, according to defense attorney Shelby Burns. How Manzano may have had a firearm, considering his past, is a key question for investigators, Burns says. Multiple sources told KPRC 2 Investigates that officers had visited the residence where the shooting occurred as recently as this past Sunday.
