Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare disease of white blood cells in which an overabundance of abnormal dendritic cells causes damage to the skin, bone, and other organs, according to Texas Children’s Hospital.

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and this month KPRC 2 is honoring the legacy of the son of a long-time KPRC 2 team member. Twelve-year-old Ethan valiantly fought T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma for eight months before passing away on March 25, 2021.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Shortly after this story was told in March 2021, Ethan passed away. Ethan’s fight is now Ethan’s impact. His family, friends, and community continue to rally to honor Ethan and help other families facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis.
