Arts District Houston in Winter Street Studios will open their welcome center this Saturday at 1 p.m., bringing large-scale public art inside and out as a way to support local artists impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, a news release said. The new welcome center is roughly 230 square feet and will feature artwork from a local artist every month, and the grand opening will coincide with Sawyer Yardsโ Second Saturday event, where visitors have the chance to meet hundreds of local artists during open studio hours, socially-distanced. Arts District Houston will also serve as a directory for visitors with suggestions of places to do in the area, the release said. Business hours are from Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Guests can enjoy the venueโs most-popular films plus two new 2020 releases: The Secret: Dare to Dream and The Broken Hearts Gallery. For a late-night-date-night Sunday through Thursday, the venue offers $20-per-vehicle tickets (for 2 people) for all 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. screenings. Every Sunday night, the venue offers tickets for only $5 per vehicle for the 9:30 and 10:15 p.m. show. The drive-in cinema has yet to announce its new location, which is slated to open in December.

Guests have the option to bring their own snacks, order concessions from Rooftop Cinema Club, or food from on-site food truckswhich is all done online for a safe, contact-less, experience. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. for the first showings each night starting at 8:30 p.m., and 30 minutes prior for the 11 p.m. showings. Masks are required for any time you step out of your vehicle.
